03-11-2017. Exhibition Plants and Witchcraft, at the Complutense University of Madrid

03/11/2017

From the 5th of last October and until April 2018, at Alfonso XIII Botanical Garden of the Complutense University of Madrid, it will be able to visit an exhibition that delves into the use that human beings have given to plants, herbology , in its medicinal and magical aspects, in different cultures and at different social levels.

The exhibition of plants brings together more than a hundred years of specimens from the UCM Ethnobotanical Collection, and its multidisciplinary approach (because biologists, historians and artists have carried out) offers advantages for the enjoyment of the proposal. Classified by use, time or the legends that surround them, the perception of plants as resources of all kinds is visualized, reaching medicine and from there leading to both beneficial and malefic use, reviewing their literary mentions up to the present.
